Paste XML to indent it neatly, check it’s well formed (every tag closed, in the right order), or minify it. Works for SVG, RSS feeds, sitemaps, SOAP and Android or Maven config files.
XML is strict: every tag must close, in the order it opened, and attribute values need quotes. These are checked by this page’s formatter:
| XML | Result |
|---|---|
<a><b>1</b></a> | well formed |
<a><b>1</a></b> | <b> is closed by </a> |
<a><b>1</b> | <a> is never closed |
<note><to>Ann</to></note> | well formed |
Each element goes on its own line, indented by its depth; an element holding only text stays on one line, so values are easy to read. Comments, CDATA sections and the XML declaration are kept as they are.
No: it checks that the XML is well formed, which every XML file must be. Validating against a schema needs that schema’s rules.
No. It’s formatted in your browser.
