How to use it
Type the bill, tap a tip percentage (or type your own) and Figure shows the tip, the total and what each person pays. The page opens with a 60.00 bill and a 15% tip: 9.00 tip, 69.00 total. Sums are done in exact decimals (0.1 + 0.2 is 0.3) and shown in your own currency. Nothing is uploaded and there is no account.
Good for:
- Restaurants, bars and cafés
- Taxis, hairdressers and deliveries
- Group meals split between friends
- Checking a service charge on the bill
Questions
How much should I tip?
It depends on the country. In the US, 15 to 20% is usual at sit-down restaurants. In the UK 10 to 12.5% is common, and many restaurants add a service charge, so check the bill first.
Is the tip worked out before or after tax?
Figure works out the tip on the amount you type. Many people tip on the amount before tax; type that figure if you prefer.
