App Store And Chrome Screenshots With Frame Forge
Frame Forge is a screenshot composition tool for building store-ready images for App Store Connect and the Chrome Web Store. It helps you keep multiple screenshot sizes consistent while still customizing text, badge styles, device size, and backgrounds per image.

What It Is For
- App Store Connect screenshots for iPhone, iPad, and Mac app listings.
- Chrome Web Store screenshots and promo tiles (small + marquee assets).
- Reusable screenshot sets where each pane keeps the correct export dimensions.
- Fast marketing polish: titles, subtitles, badges, backgrounds, and device framing.
How It Works (Concept)
Frame Forge has one source screenshot image and many output panes. Each pane stores a target size, device framing settings, text overlay style, and export behavior. This lets you create a full screenshot set without rebuilding the composition for every size.
Quick Start Workflow
- Upload your app screenshot (or browser UI screenshot) as the source image.
- Add panes for each required store size using the preset dropdown.
- Select a pane to edit it in the right inspector panel.
- Set text overlay (title, subtitle, badge, font, color, alignment, placement).
- Adjust device size, frame on/off, and background override if needed.
- Preview the selected pane in the large preview (accurate composition view).
- Export the selected pane or batch export all panes.
App Store Connect Preset Strategy
Keep a style system across the whole set
Use the text style sync toggle and style presets so each screenshot in a sequence feels like part of one campaign. Then change only the title/subtitle copy per pane.
Use pane-specific backgrounds only when needed
Global background settings are fastest for consistency. Use pane background override when one screenshot needs contrast or a different color story.
Treat each pane like a message, not just a screenshot
One feature claim per pane usually reads better than trying to explain multiple features in a single image.
Chrome Web Store Assets
Frame Forge includes standard Chrome screenshot sizes and promo tile helpers:

For promo tiles, many builders prefer no device frame and larger text hierarchy. Frame Forge lets you toggle the device frame off per pane and use a stronger title style preset.
Helpful Controls To Use
- Style presets: Apply a saved text treatment quickly (plus a
None (Legacy)baseline). - Copy / Paste style: Clone text + badge + background styling between panes.
- Text style sync: Keep text treatment aligned across the whole pane set while editing one pane.
- Device size slider: Increase or reduce the framed device inside the export without changing output dimensions.
- Main preview zoom: Inspect details without altering export composition.
Export Quality Tips
- Use the built-in export buttons rather than browser screenshots of the preview.
- Keep title/subtitle short so text wraps predictably across multiple pane sizes.
- If text looks too close to an edge, increase
TEXT_INSETbefore changing font size.
Local Save Behavior
Frame Forge stores most settings and pane configurations in localStorage, so your last setup is available after a page refresh. This includes pane layout, styles, and (when storage allows) the uploaded source screenshot.
Recommended Screenshot Production Flow
- Draft copy in five short headlines first.
- Create one pane per headline and duplicate styles.
- Set all target sizes (iPhone, iPad, Mac, Chrome) before polishing visuals.
- Tune backgrounds and device size last.
- Batch export and review in App Store Connect / Chrome Web Store uploader.
