# Sunset Bay Pursuit: credits

## Sound effects (`sfx2/`; `sfx1/` was the same set before the thunder, heavy rain and wind)
The guns, casings, reloads, impacts, ricochets, breaking glass, tyre blowouts, engines, siren, helicopter, wind, wet tyres, rain, the tunnel,
passing cars, skids, crashes, horns, the radio squelch, thunder, heavy rain and the gusting wind are CC0 recordings from [Freesound](https://freesound.org) (no credit required;
listed with thanks), each in [`sfx2/sfx-credits.md`](sfx2/sfx-credits.md) (built by `yz-hd-tools/sfx/pack.mjs` from
`sunset-bay-pursuit-tools/sfx/pack.json`). The tunnel's reverb and the flapping of a burst tyre are made in code (`js/audio.js`).

## First-person arms (`arms1/arms.glb`) and the carbine (`js/gun.js`)
The arms are a fictional man generated from MakeHuman's parametric model, CC0 1.0: the hm08 base mesh, macro and detail morph targets,
the "mixamo" rig definition and skin weights from [MPFB2](https://github.com/makehumancommunity/mpfb2) `src/mpfb/data` (MakeHuman
community: Data Collection AB, Joel Palmius, Jonas Hauquier and contributors; asset licence in its `LICENSE.ASSETS.md`), evaluated in
Node by Ringside's pipeline (`ringside-tools/mh/`, see `src/ringside/assets/CREDITS.md`). The gloves, their pads and the jacket sleeves
are shells made from that surface for this project (`sunset-bay-pursuit-tools/arms/build.mjs`); no skin textures are used. The carbine
is fictional and made entirely in code (`js/gun.js`): no third-party data, no markings.

## The rifle (`gun1/`) and the gloved arms (`arms2/`)
- **"AR-15 style rifle"** by Mateusz Woliński ([SpatialNeglect / jeandiz](https://sketchfab.com/jeandiz)),
  [Sketchfab](https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/ar-15-style-rifle-50d33435445e439c95e3b36e9d4bd798), licensed under
[CC BY 4.0](http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/). Changed for this game (`sunset-bay-pursuit-tools/gun/build.mjs`): rescaled and
re-centred, its scope, sling and GPS unit removed, the magazine, bolt carrier, charging handle, dust cover and trigger split out to move,
the serial plate's text and QR code and the magwell's engraving (a maker-like monogram, "PROPERTY OF U.S. GOVT.", calibre and serial)
painted out of its colour, roughness and normal maps, textures re-encoded as WebP at 2048 and 1024 px. The red-dot sight on it is made
  in code (`js/gun.js`).
- **"FREE [FPS Arms] GameReady: RIGGED"** by [BAMEN](https://sketchfab.com/bamenwo05),
  [Sketchfab](https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/free-fps-arms-gameready-rigged-296d30fc705b4dff85c2c8a2d2724e7f), licensed under
[CC BY 4.0](http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/). Changed: bones renamed, textures re-encoded as WebP; the bare forearms are
drawn as a long-sleeved shirt made in code, and the arms are posed by IK in `js/gun.js`.
- **"Remington 870 Police Magnum 12 Gauge Shotgun"** by [8sianDude (haoliu95)](https://sketchfab.com/haoliu95),
  [Sketchfab](https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/remington-870-police-magnum-12-gauge-shotgun-eea11de7e9d24b6683962b8388c319eb), licensed under
[CC BY 4.0](http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/): the pump shotgun (`gun2/shotgun.glb`, `shotgun-1k.glb`). Changed
(`sunset-bay-pursuit-tools/gun/build.mjs`): rescaled and re-centred, the fore-end and bolt split out to move, the second shell left out,
the receiver's roll marks (maker, model, "POLICE MAGNUM") and serial, the barrel's maker and address and gauge lines, the stock maker's
name on the grip medallion and the shell's maker logo and text painted out of its maps, textures re-encoded as WebP at 2048 and 1024 px.
- **"RPG-7"** by [ArtEast.](https://sketchfab.com/ArtEast.),
  [Sketchfab](https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/rpg-7-23d13d69b7ab4ea1a438c57ca3a234b4), licensed under
[CC BY 4.0](http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/): the rocket launcher (`gun2/launcher.glb`, `launcher-1k.glb`). Changed: turned
and rescaled, textures re-encoded as WebP at 2048 and 1024 px. Both are held by BAMEN's arms, posed by IK in `js/gun.js`.
- The made-in-code carbine above is retired; the CC0 MakeHuman arms (`arms1/`) stay as an option (`createGun(r, { arms: 'mh' })`).

## The vehicles (`cars2/`)
All from [Sketchfab](https://sketchfab.com), each licensed under [CC BY 4.0](http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/), built by
`sunset-bay-pursuit-tools/cars/build.sh` (see its README): turned to the game's axes, wheels and rotors split off to turn, parts merged a
material at a time, textures re-encoded as KTX2 (2048 px for our car, 1024 px for the rest), meshes compressed with meshopt; every car
repainted by the game.
- **"2014 Toyota Corolla E180 EU (with interior)"** by [Armored Wave](https://sketchfab.com/armoredwave),
[source](https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/36f95efb0585464cae43a25a3b3392e8): our car (`hero.glb`). Changed: the maker's badges front and

this game's own scheme (navy, a yellow band, a white belly); "AIR ONE" lettering added in code.
- Bayside Customs' bodies by [Daniel Zhabotinsky](https://sketchfab.com/DanielZhabotinsky) (low-poly fictional cars from Sketchfab, each
[CC BY 4.0](http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/), `src/bayside-customs/assets/cars1/`, credited in
`src/bayside-customs/assets/CREDITS.md`; no download of our own): the getaway cars of Sunset Bay, "Conquer '89 Pickup - Low poly model"

Changed (on top of Bayside's build, which took off the badges and plates): repainted, the models' wheels replaced by five-spoke wheels
made in code, the bonnet hinged to spring open (`js/cars.js`).

## Street dressing (`props1/`) and the near trees (`trees1/`)
Built by `sunset-bay-pursuit-tools/props/build.sh` from downloads fetched by `props/fetch.py` (the owner's OK, 2026-10-31; placed by
`js/dressing.js`, the trees drawn by `js/trees.js`). Sketchfab models are CC BY 4.0 ([licence](http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/));
each was cut into pieces, scaled, simplified and its textures re-encoded (KTX2) for this game:

kiosks, and (2026-10-31) the café tables, chairs and parasols, the fruit and flower stalls, the newspaper bundles, the fire hydrants, the
planters, the parcel lockers, the shop windows, the pallets and the gas bottles.

## The driver, the city bus and the police car (2026-10-31)
- **Reyes, the driver** (`people2/reyes.glb`), **the gunman** who leans out of the getaway cars (`people2/gunman.glb`) and **the getaway drivers** (`people2/wheelman.glb`, `people2/driver2.glb`; the cap's peak and the dark glasses made in code): fictional
men generated from MakeHuman's parametric model, CC0 1.0 (the hm08 base mesh, targets, the eye proxy, the "short02" hair proxy and
  the "eyebrow002" and "eyebrow010" eyebrow proxies with their textures (the hair darkened), MPFB2's "mixamo" rig and skin weights;
no credit required, noted with thanks), evaluated by Ringside's pipeline (`ringside-tools/mh/`) and dressed in jackets, trousers,
shoes, gloves and a beanie made from that surface for this project (`sunset-bay-pursuit-tools/driver/build-driver.mjs`). Posed in
code (`js/driver.js`). The gunman's pistol is made in code (a generic shape, no maker's design).
- **"Service bus pack"** by [MaG80](https://sketchfab.com/MaG80),
  [source](https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/06160118194743e585ee6a83a1d5b63e), licensed under
[CC BY 4.0](http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/): the city bus (`cars2/eubus.glb`; its police bus not used). Changed: the
"BUS LOGO" side banner and the shadow card removed, made 12 m long and narrower (2.55 m), repainted in our own livery, meshes
  compressed.
- The police car (`cars2/police.glb`) is Comrade1280's **"Generic civil service vehicles pack"** (above, CC BY 4.0): its black panels
repainted navy, the "911 EMERGENCY" lettering removed, the light bar's red lens made blue and split off to flash.
- Bullet holes, window cracks and crazing, smashed lamps, dents and the parts that come off are made in code from the models above
  (`js/cars.js`).

## Tokyo at night (level 5: `js/tokyo.js`, `tokyo-plan.js`, `tokyo-signs.js`, `tokyo-mats.js`)
Made entirely in code at load, nothing downloaded: the district's plan, buildings, signs, the railway viaduct and its trains, the
expressway, poles and wires, rain and sky. The road, pavement, roof, concrete and brick surfaces sample the same CC0 material atlas the
other levels use (Wander's `/wander/assets/mat-albedo.jpg` and `mat-nr.jpg`, built from [ambientCG](https://ambientcg.com) CC0 photos).
Every sign's text is made up (generic words such as 居酒屋 or カラオケ with invented names, never a real brand or shop), drawn with the
device's own Japanese fonts, or as made-up strokes where it has none. The place names on the expressway's signs are invented.

## Lettering (`fonts/`)
**Big Shoulders Display** by Patric King and the Big Shoulders project ([xotypeco/big_shoulders](https://github.com/xotypeco/big_shoulders)),
the title, menus and banners, licensed under the [SIL Open Font License 1.1](fonts/OFL.txt) (the Latin subset as Google Fonts serves it, unchanged).

## Bullets against the city
[three-mesh-bvh](https://github.com/gkjohnson/three-mesh-bvh) 0.9.1 by Garrett Johnson, MIT, loaded from jsDelivr.

## The Brandenburg Gate on phones (`gate1/gate-mid.glb`)
**"Brandenburg Gate, Germany"** by [Fovea](https://sketchfab.com/3dfovea), [Sketchfab](https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/brandenburg-gate-germany-1df210f3fec941768ceb50c375856c10),
licensed under [CC BY 4.0](http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/). Wander's copy (`/wander/assets/street1/gate.glb`, used as is on
computers) simplified to ~90k triangles for phones (`yz-hd-tools/gltf/export.mjs --simplify 0.45 --scan`); textures unchanged.
