Twelve Yards
Twelve Yards is a 3D penalty shootout game. You take your team's kicks and you go in goal for theirs. The ball follows real physics: air drag slows it, spin curls it, it rattles off the woodwork and bulges the net. A packed stadium reacts to every kick, and everything you hear, from the referee's whistle to the crowd's roar, is made live in your browser.

Modes
- Quick Match: a full shootout against a random nation. Five kicks each, then sudden death.
- World Tournament: win four shootouts in a row, from the round of 16 to the final. Keepers and takers get sharper every round.
- Sudden Death: keep scoring until you miss. The keeper gets better after every goal.
Tips from the spot
- A firm shot into the side netting is almost unsaveable. A firm shot at mid-height is the keeper's favourite.
- Power costs accuracy. The harder you swipe, the more the ball strays from where you aimed.
- Pressure is real. In sudden death your aim gets a little shakier.
- In goal, watch the taker's run-up. A stutter usually means he is waiting for you to move first.
Questions
Is Twelve Yards free?
Yes. Twelve Yards is free to play with no sign-up and no ads, and every team and mode is free. The optional Kit Pack, a one-time $2.99 upgrade, adds three premium kits and three premium stadiums. They only change the look, not the shootout. Your team, difficulty and records stay in this browser.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. It is built for swiping. Hold your phone in landscape for the widest view of the goal. If it runs slowly, the game lowers its resolution on its own.
Where does the sound come from?
The anthem, the crowd, the whistle and every kick and net are synthesized live in your browser. No audio files are downloaded.
Are these the real national teams?
Teams wear their national colours, but the players are fictional and there are no official badges. Twelve Yards is not affiliated with any football association or tournament.
