How to play
Tap a piece, then tap where it should go, or drag it. The dots show its legal moves; a ring marks a capture. On the 3D board, drag the table (or use two fingers) to turn the view, and pinch or scroll to zoom. Double-tap the table to put the camera back.
The rules, all of them
Castling (move the king two squares), en passant, promotion (pick the piece), check and checkmate, and every draw: stalemate, threefold repetition, the 50-move rule and not enough material to mate.
Hints that explain
Stuck? Hint shows the move the computer likes and says why: a fork, a pin, a loose piece, a mate on the way.
Accessibility
Every move is announced in plain words for screen readers (and read aloud if you turn that on). Use the arrow keys and Enter to play, or type moves in algebraic notation.
