Home Codes

Never lose a pairing code again.

HomeKit and Matter setup codes, saved with the label.

About Home Codes

Home Codes is a small vault for smart-home pairing codes. Save the eight-digit HomeKit code or Matter setup code before the sticker gets peeled off or lost, scan a label with your camera, and keep it with the room, brand and a photo of the original label. You can redraw a scannable QR, print labels or a fridge sheet, and share codes with your household through a passphrase-locked link.

What does Home Codes store?

The HomeKit or Matter setup code from each device sticker, plus the room, brand, an optional label photo, warranty date and notes. From the code it redraws a scannable QR label you can print or share.

Where are my codes kept?

Only in this browser on this device. There is no account and no server copy. You can set a PIN, export CSV or JSON, and back up to a file.

How does sharing with my household work?

Home Codes encrypts the codes on your device with a passphrase (AES-GCM) and gives you a link or QR. The other person needs the passphrase to open it and can then save the codes to their own Home Codes.

Can I print a sheet for the fridge?

Yes. Print a fridge sheet listing every device and code, or a sheet of individual QR labels to stick back on devices.

Add a pairing code

The setup ID comes from scanning the original QR. Without it you can still type the code into your Home app, but the regenerated QR needs it.

Device

Share securely

Create a link that only opens with a passphrase. The code is encrypted on this device (AES-GCM); the link itself holds the locked box, nothing is uploaded.

Tell them the passphrase in person or by a different app than the link.

Someone shared pairing codes with you

This link is locked. Enter the passphrase they gave you.

Scan a pairing label

Point at the QR on the device, box or manual.

Set a PIN

A 4–8 digit PIN to open Home Codes on this device. It keeps codes away from casual eyes; it is not disk encryption.

Settings

Print

The fridge sheet lists every code by room with a QR you can scan with your phone. Tape it inside a cupboard door.
