Iron Dojo
Iron Dojo is a free 3D fighting game that runs in your browser. It plays like a real console fighter: light, medium and heavy punches and kicks, command normals and target combos, every attack with startup, active and recovery frames, blocking high and low, throws that beat blocking, EX specials and two supers per fighter, wall bounces and ground bounces in combos, and wake-up options when you're knocked down. It is also easy to pick up. On a phone, the Special button plus a direction does every special move, Special plus an attack does the EX version, and auto-combo assist strings hits together when you keep tapping Punch.

Modes
Arcade is a ladder of six fights, with your rival near the end and the Iron Sensei waiting at the top. Winning Arcade fights unlocks new fighters. Versus is one match against the CPU at five levels, or against a friend. Training has a dummy you can set to stand, crouch, jump, attack or fight back, with hitboxes, an input display, a frame advantage readout and every move's frame data in the move list. The Tutorial teaches moving, attacking, heavy attacks, chains, blocking, throws, specials, EX moves, combos and supers in a few minutes. The daily challenge is a new fight with a twist every day.
How the fighting works
Stand to block high and mid attacks. Crouch while blocking to stop low kicks and sweeps, and crouch to make high attacks miss you. Forward plus heavy punch is an overhead that has to be blocked standing. Throws cannot be blocked, but you can break one by pressing a punch and a kick as soon as you are grabbed. Light attacks chain into medium attacks, mediums chain into heavies, and most normals cancel into a special move when they connect. Each fighter has target combos that continue past a heavy. Some attacks bounce opponents off the wall or the floor so the combo can keep going. Combos lose damage the longer they go, and a juggled opponent can only be hit a few times. Specials do a little chip damage through a block. Landing attacks and taking damage fill the super bar, which holds two stocks: half a stock pays for an EX special, a full stock for a super.
Questions
Is Iron Dojo free?
Yes. Iron Dojo is free to play with no sign-up and no ads, and every fighter and colour can be unlocked by playing. The optional Fighter Pass, a one-time $3.99 upgrade, unlocks all 13 fighters and colours straight away and adds four bonus palettes. Your unlocks, records and settings stay in this browser.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. Landscape gives the biggest view, and portrait works too, with the controls under the fight. The Simple touch layout has four attack buttons; switch to Classic in Settings for all six. If it runs slowly, set Graphics to Low. The game also lowers the resolution by itself when needed.
Where do the sounds come from?
The hits, footsteps, crowd and music are all made live in your browser, and the announcer uses your device's speech voice. No audio files are downloaded. You can switch the voice off in Settings.
