Start with the launch hypothesis
Write down who the app was for, what problem the listing promised to solve and which search terms you expected to matter. Without this baseline, every result becomes a story you invent after the fact.
Record the changes
Keep a short timeline of metadata, screenshots, pricing, release notes, outreach and product changes. The goal is not bureaucracy; it is knowing what actually moved before a result appeared.
Review the complete signal
Look at impressions, product-page views, downloads, reviews, refunds and support questions together. One sale or one quiet day is a clue, not a verdict.
Choose one next experiment
Dispatch gives indie developers a place to keep research, competitor notes, listing assets and preflight work close to the retrospective. Choose one change, define the signal, and give it enough time to teach you something.
