How to warm up a new email domain for outreach
New domains need trust-building before scale. A calm ramp-up strategy helps inbox providers see your traffic as legitimate and consistent.
Before day 1
- Set SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records correctly.
- Use a real mailbox with a human sender profile.
- Send and receive normal human email traffic first.
Suggested warmup ramp
- Week 1: 10-20 outreach emails per day.
- Week 2: 20-40 emails per day if quality is stable.
- Week 3: 40-75 emails per day only if bounce/complaint signals remain low.
Use these guardrails
- Keep hourly caps conservative.
- Use delay windows to avoid burst behavior.
- Pause when reply quality drops or bounces rise.
- Suppress bad contacts immediately.
When not to scale yet
If your copy is generic, list quality is weak, or authentication is incomplete, increasing volume amplifies risk. Fix fundamentals first, then scale gradually.
