Italic text generator

Slanted letters you can paste anywhere, even where there is no italic button. Free, and nothing leaves your device.

How italic text works

Italic text here uses the italic letters in Unicode: serif italic (πΌπ‘‘π‘Žπ‘™π‘–π‘), sans italic (𝘐𝘡𝘒𝘭π˜ͺ𝘀) and bold italic (π‘°π’•π’‚π’π’Šπ’„). Because they are characters rather than formatting, they stay slanted when you paste them into a bio, a caption or a comment.

How to use it

  1. Type your text in the box at the top. Until you do, the styles show β€œJust a thought”.
  2. The italic styles come first. Tap one to copy it; styles marked PRO are part of Fancy Text Pro.
  3. Paste it wherever you like: a bio, a caption, a comment or a message.

Questions

Why don't numbers turn italic?

Unicode has bold, double-struck, sans and monospace digits but no italic ones, so numbers stay as they are.

What is the difference between italic and cursive?

Italic is slanted print; cursive (script) looks like joined-up handwriting. This page opens on the Cursive filter, which has both.
