Free spaced repetition flashcards, no account needed
Make decks by pasting lines, importing a CSV or trying the sample deck, then study a few minutes a day. The app schedules each card for the moment you are about to forget it. Your decks are saved in this browser only, with backup and restore to a file.
How it works
Each card is scheduled with spaced repetition, a method based on decades of memory research. After you see the answer, rate how well you remembered it:
| Button | When to use it | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Again | You forgot | The card comes back in this session, and its interval starts over |
| Hard | Remembered with real effort | A slightly longer interval than last time |
| Good | Remembered after a moment | The interval grows, roughly doubling or more |
| Easy | Instant | A much longer interval |
The time under each button tells you when the card will come back. A card you keep getting right moves from days to weeks to months, so a deck of hundreds of cards takes only a few minutes a day.
Making good cards
- One fact per card. "Capital of Peru → Lima" beats a card listing five capitals.
- Ask, do not show. Phrase the front as a question you have to answer.
- Keep answers short. If the back needs a paragraph, split the card.
- Add both directions for vocabulary. Make "perro → dog" and "dog → perro" as separate cards.
- Study daily. Ten minutes every day beats an hour once a week. Reviews pile up if you skip.
Questions
Can I bring cards from a spreadsheet?
Yes. Copy two columns and paste them into the Add cards box, or save as CSV and use Import CSV. The first column is the front and the second is the back.
Where is my data stored?
Only in this browser on this device. Use Back up to save everything to a file, and Restore on another device or browser.
Is this the same as Anki?
It uses the same general idea, a variant of the SM-2 scheduling algorithm, but it is much simpler: plain text cards, no add-ons and nothing to install.
