Key Race is a free, minimal typing speed test. Type in time, words, quote, zen or custom mode with live WPM and accuracy, pick from 25+ themes and keyboard sounds, track personal bests and weak keys, and send ghost-replay challenge links so friends can race you on the exact same words.
Words per minute counts five correctly typed characters as one word, divided by the test time. Raw WPM includes mistakes; accuracy and consistency are shown alongside.
Timed tests, word counts, quotes, zen mode with no target and custom text you paste in, plus a daily 30-second test with the same words for everyone and step-by-step typing lessons.
After a test, Challenge a friend creates a link with your exact words and a replay of your typing. Your friend races your ghost caret on the same words. You can also race Pip, a built-in 62 wpm ghost.
Results, personal bests and settings stay in this browser. There is no account. You can back up and restore them from Settings.
