Sunset Bay Tycoon guide
Idle tycoon games: tips to grow your restaurant empire faster
Buy whatever adds the most money per minute first: a second cooking station and more tables come before decorations. Hire staff for the jobs you repeat most, starting with whoever keeps the counter stocked, then a cashier so sales happen without you. Spend early cash on carrying more and walking faster, bank your takings often, and finish each venue so it keeps earning while you’re away.
How idle arcade tycoons work
Idle arcade tycoon games, such as Pizza Ready, My Perfect Hotel and Sunset Bay Tycoon, share a loop. You walk a character around a shop: pick up what the kitchen makes, put it on the counter, serve customers at the till and collect the money. Standing on a pad pays for the next thing: another station, a table, or a member of staff who then does one of those jobs for you. The shop slowly runs itself, and you move on to a bigger one.
What to buy first
- Anything that adds sales. A second grill or oven and more tables raise what you earn per minute; decorations and signs (which usually raise prices or footfall a little) are best near the end of a venue.
- The bottleneck. If customers wait at an empty counter, you need more cooking. If food piles up but the queue is long, you need someone at the till.
- Pads in order. In most of these games the pads open in a set order; save towards the next one rather than buying upgrades you don’t need yet.
When to hire staff
Hire for the job you do most. The first hire is usually a cook or carrier who keeps the counter stocked; the second, a cashier, so customers are served while you’re elsewhere; then a cleaner for the tables. Once those three are working, your job becomes banking the money and paying for pads, which is when a venue really speeds up.
Which upgrades pay back
- Carrying more pays back first: fewer trips between the kitchen and the counter.
- Walking faster helps every job you still do yourself.
- Staff speed is worth more the more staff you have.
- Prices raise every sale, so they’re best once the shop is busy.
Bank your takings often: money left in a pile by the till isn’t spendable yet.
Earning while you’re away
Finished venues usually keep earning while the game is closed, up to a limit. Finishing a venue before you stop for the day is worth more than starting the next one, and coming back before the limit fills means none of it is wasted. In Sunset Bay Tycoon finished venues save up to two hours (eight with Pro, at twice the rate).
