A first-week App Store workflow for indie developers

The first week after launch is for collecting signals, not changing everything at once. Use a small review loop to decide what deserves another look.

Dispatch niche research workflow for an indie app launch

Day one: confirm the basics

Check that the store page, support link, price, screenshots and release notes look correct in the storefronts you care about. Save the starting point before you begin interpreting movement.

Days two and three: listen for friction

Read reviews, support messages and direct replies without turning one opinion into a roadmap. Look for repeated confusion: what people expected, what they could not find and what the listing promised too broadly.

Days four and five: compare the listing

Review the search phrases that brought attention, the competing promises around them and the first screenshot a new user sees. A small metadata or screenshot improvement may be more useful than a new feature.

Days six and seven: choose one experiment

Write down the hypothesis, the exact change and the signal you will watch. Dispatch keeps research, competitor notes, keyword work, screenshots and launch follow-up in one focused Mac app so the loop remains usable after launch week.
