Group travel costs

Split the trip without becoming the treasurer.

Troupe keeps a live balance for the Airbnb, food and activities your group shares. Add an expense once, then see who is ahead and who owes — with the fewest transfers to settle up.

One-time purchase available · $29.99 for life

The maths happens in the background.

Whoever fronts the booking adds it once. Balances update for the whole group, and "who pays whom" works out the fewest possible transfers to settle up.

Add once

Log the Airbnb deposit, taxi or dinner against the trip instead of sending another message to the group.

See instantly

Everyone can see the current balance. No spreadsheet version to reconcile, no screenshots to compare.

Settle simply

Reduce a tangle of IOUs to the smallest number of sensible transfers. Add payment links so people can pay directly.

How expense splitting works in Troupe

Five steps from "I just paid for dinner" to "we're square."

Step 1

Add the expense

Tap "Add expense," name it, enter the amount and pick the currency. Takes about five seconds.

Step 2

Choose who paid

Select the person who fronted the cost. They get the credit automatically.

Step 3

Choose who splits

Include everyone, or just the people who were at dinner. Equal or custom amounts.

Step 4

Watch balances update

Everyone in the trip sees live positive/negative balances. Green means owed money, red means owes money.

Step 5

Settle up

Open "Who pays whom" for the minimum transfers. Mark each payment as settled, or mark all at once.

Bonus

Attach receipts

Photograph a receipt and attach it to the expense. Useful for work trips and tax-deductible travel.

More than just expenses.

Unlike a standalone expense splitter, Troupe puts the costs next to the plan they belong to. Every expense sits beside the itinerary, packing list and booking documents in one shared trip.

Shared itinerary

The day-by-day plan, so everyone knows where to be and when. Learn more →

Packing list

A shared checklist the group can divide and tick off. Learn more →

Booking documents

Store tickets, confirmations and PDFs beside the booking they belong to.

Troupe vs Splitwise for travel

Both split expenses. The difference is what comes with them.

Splitwise

Great for splitting everyday bills between housemates. You get expense groups, reminders and multi-currency support. But no itinerary, no packing list, no booking storage.

Troupe

Built for trips. Expenses live inside the trip alongside the itinerary, packing list and booking details. Everyone joins through iCloud — no extra accounts. One app for the whole plan.

When to use which

Use Splitwise for ongoing shared costs. Use Troupe when you are planning a trip and want costs, bookings and logistics in one place.

One trip is free. For real.

Start with a full group trip for up to four people. Not a trial — a real trip with expenses, itinerary and sharing. Troupe Pro adds unlimited trips and larger groups for $3.99/month or a one-time purchase of $29.99.

Frequently asked questions

What currencies are supported?

Troupe supports USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, AUD, CAD and CHF. Set the currency per trip.

What happens to my data?

Troupe syncs through your own iCloud account. There is no Troupe server and no tracking. Your trip data stays in your iCloud.
