About City Hospital
Put on your scrubs at City Hospital, Sunset Bay's friendly hospital on the hill, where the waiting room is filling up. Each patient sits on the exam couch and tells you what happened in their own words: a skateboard fall, a sneezy morning, twelve cupcakes at a party. Examine them with the tray: hold the thermometer to their forehead for a reading, listen to the chest and the tummy with the stethoscope (a steady heartbeat, a wheeze, a gurgle or a hic!), look in the ears and the throat with the light, tap a knee with the reflex hammer for the kick, and put a wrist or an ankle under the X-ray viewer, then find the crack on the picture. Every finding is a clue with a picture and a word, and the clues point to the answer: tap What's wrong? and pick it from three. Then treat them: circle round an ankle to wrap the bandage, hold the cast while it sets and keep the press gentle, tap on a sling, drag on a plaster, hold an ice pack, wipe a scrape clean and give a warm drink. Some patients rest on the ward, where each bed's medicine ring fills and you give the dose in the green window; at rush hour the waiting room fills while the doses come due. Ambulances bring patients now and then, including the people you rescue in Fire Rescue. Nervous patients feel better when you hold their hand and say something kind. Every patient gives stars for being thorough, gentle and quick and pays Sunset Bay dollars for comfy chairs, a fourth bed, a quick X-ray viewer and a fish tank. Play Relaxed with no clock, take the Daily, and keep your stars and badges in the Job Passport. Friendly and made up, never gross: no blood and no needles, and it never gives medical advice. Made for everyone from about six up, with read-aloud, full keyboard play and reduced motion.
