About Fuel Log
Fuel Log is a free calorie and macro tracker that runs in your browser. Search the built-in food database, scan a barcode, use quick add or log a saved meal, and watch calories, protein, carbs and fat fill up for each meal. You can also log water, exercise and weigh-ins and follow a smoothed weight trend. Fuel Log Pro, an optional one-time upgrade, adds recipes, a fasting timer, weekly nutrition reports and a photo diary.
Is Fuel Log free?
Yes. The food diary, food search, barcode scanning, quick add, saved meals, water, exercise, weigh-ins and the weight trend are free, with no ads and no sign-up. Fuel Log Pro is an optional one-time upgrade ($3.99) that adds recipes, the fasting timer, weekly nutrition reports and a meal photo diary.
How are my calorie targets calculated?
Fuel Log uses the Mifflin-St Jeor equation for your resting energy, multiplies it by your activity level, then adjusts for your weekly goal.
Is my food diary private?
Yes. Everything is stored in this browser only. Barcode lookups query the public Open Food Facts database with just the barcode number.
Can I scan barcodes?
Yes, in browsers that support live barcode detection you can scan with your camera; anywhere else you can type the barcode number. Products found are saved to My foods for next time.
Can I back up my diary?
Yes. Settings has a backup that saves your diary, foods, recipes and meal photos to a JSON file you can restore later.
