About Hotel Royale
Put on the gold name badge at Hotel Royale, the tall, grand hotel in the middle of Sunset Bay, and run the front desk. Guests queue in the lobby with what they'd like on a little card of pictures and words: a sea view, a quiet floor, a cot for the baby, room for the dog, a low floor for Grandpa, a high floor for the astronaut. The whole tower is cut open like a doll's house, five floors of four rooms with the city on one side and the sea on the other, and every room shows how well it fits the guest at the desk: tap the best one and they ride the glass lift up to it. Then keep everyone happy: room service orders pop up as bubbles (tea, pancakes, cake, a milkshake), so tap the room and the bellhop takes it up in the lift; a band or an opera singer next to a guest who wanted quiet means a noise complaint, so tap the noisy room and ask them to keep it down; somebody always loses their key; and when guests check out, send housekeeping so the room is ready for the next one. VIPs arrive at the check-in rush: roll out the red carpet and give them the best room in the house. Odd guests turn up too, from Captain Barnacle the pirate to the Great Zippo and his rabbit. Every stay earns stars and pays Sunset Bay dollars for a pool, a faster lift, a second housekeeper, a room-service trolley, soundproofing and pet beds, and your hotel's star rating climbs from two stars to five as you get better. Play Relaxed with no rush, take the Daily, and keep your stars and badges in the Job Passport. Taxi fares you drop at Hotel Royale in Fare Frenzy check in as your guests. Made for everyone from about six up, with read-aloud, full keyboard play and reduced motion.
