About this random name picker
An empty wheel ready for your own names. Paste a whole list from a spreadsheet, document or register and each name gets its own slice. Turn on Remove the winner and nobody is picked twice until you put them back.
Everything stays on your device: no account, nothing uploaded, and it works offline once loaded.
How to use it
- Paste your names into the Entries box, or type them one at a time and press Add. A column copied from a spreadsheet works too.
- Press Spin, tap the wheel, flick it with a finger or the mouse, or press Space. The Spin button stops at a random point, so every entry has a chance equal to the size of its slice.
- Turn on Remove the winner after each spin to work through the whole list. Picked names are listed underneath; press Put them all back to start again.
- Press Save this wheel to keep the list for next time.
Good for
- Choosing who answers next in class
- Raffles and giveaways among friends or followers
- Picking the order for presentations or turns
- Secret Santa draws and chore rotas
Questions
How many names can I add?
Up to 500 names on one wheel. Long lists still spin smoothly; the labels get smaller as the slices do.
Can I stop the same name being picked twice?
Yes. Turn on Remove the winner after each spin. Each winner comes off the wheel when you close the result, and you can undo it or put everyone back.
Are my names uploaded anywhere?
No. The names stay in this browser on your device. They only leave it if you choose to share the wheel as a link, which carries the names inside the link.
