About Sunset Bay Cathedral
Build St Brendan's, a Gothic cathedral in Sunset Bay, stone by stone, and find out why cathedrals stand. Every arch, wall, vault, flying buttress, bell tower and spire is tested with real masonry physics: stone only pushes, so a structure stands only if the forces in it can stay inside the stone, and the game shows that line of thrust glowing through every arch. Choose how thick the stones are, how many voussoirs, round or pointed, how wide the piers, how deep the buttresses, how heavy the pinnacles, then lay the stones one by one, strike the centring and watch it stand, or fold and fall in a real collapse. Seven chapters and 21 levels take you from the west door's first arch to a 60 metre spire in Sunset Bay's gales, each with three stars for standing, for the stone budget and for safety. Then St Brendan's rises in 3D from your own designs: walk inside under the vaults with light falling through the windows, design the stained glass, ring the bells in real change-ringing methods, play the pipe organ, and take part in services through the Christian year with hymns, readings and the congregation. Today's stone gives everyone the same puzzle every day.
