Best for: solo training at home when you have a clear patch of floor but no bag, pads or partner. Keep the intensity sensible and stop for pain, dizziness or unusual symptoms.

ShadowCoach can add live punch and movement feedback when you want more than a timer.
Make the empty room useful
Without a target, it is easy to throw at the air and call that training. Give your eyes a point on the wall, imagine a calm opponent and make the return to stance part of every combination. The pause is not wasted time; it is where balance and decision-making become visible.
A four-round workout without equipment
Stance and footwork
Step forward, back and to each side. Add relaxed single jabs. Keep the feet underneath you and finish each minute in the same stance.
Jab and cross
Work the one–two at half speed. Bring both hands home, breathe out and reset before adding another repetition.
One combination
Choose jab–cross–hook or jab–cross–slip. Repeat it from two angles, but keep the final movement small and controlled.
Defence and recovery
Move lightly, add a slip or cover after a combination, then leave the exchange. The goal is to finish with shape, not exhaustion.
What to notice after the bell
Ask three questions: did the hands return, did the feet stay balanced, and could you breathe while moving? Keep one sentence in a training note. Repeating the same session later gives you something real to compare.
A phone can make that review more concrete. ShadowCoach recognises common punches, measures speed and pace, and offers spoken cues while you are still in the round. It is a feedback layer, not a replacement for a qualified coach.
