Build-in-Public Notes: A Small Content Loop for a Small App Studio
The simple build-in-public content loop Yuzool uses to turn product decisions, support questions and release work into useful editorial.

Build in public can become another performance if the public part is separated from the building. A post gets written because it is Tuesday, a screenshot gets shared because a launch is near and the reader receives a stream of activity without much help understanding the product.
For a small app studio, a better loop starts with the work already happening.
When a support question arrives twice, it becomes a short answer. When a short answer reveals a larger decision, it becomes an explainer. When an explainer points to a repeatable workflow, it becomes a guide or a free tool. When a release changes the workflow, the page gets updated rather than abandoned.
That loop has four useful properties:
- It starts from evidence instead of a content calendar.
- It gives the reader something they can use even if they never buy the app.
- It links the product only where the product continues the job.
- It creates a library that gets better with every release.
The temptation is to publish only conclusions. The more useful habit is to include the shape of the decision: what was confusing, what changed, what stayed out and how the result will be checked. Readers do not need a dramatic founder diary. They need enough context to recognise whether the problem is theirs too.
This is also why long-tail SEO fits build-in-public work. A specific question such as “how to review App Store sales on iPhone” or “how to plan a weekly board as a freelancer” has a smaller audience than “productivity,” but the searcher has already supplied the situation. A clear answer can earn trust before the product appears.
The studio’s content system should therefore be close to its support inbox, release notes and product notebook. The best marketing material is often the explanation you had to write anyway.
