Online row counter for knitting and crochet

Tap the big number (or press the space bar or a Bluetooth page-turner pedal) at the end of each row. Set the repeat counter to the length of your pattern repeat and it rolls over, counting repeats for you. It's saved in this browser.

Row counter

Counting repeats

Patterns often say "repeat rows 1–8". Set "rows in the repeat" to 8: the repeat row goes 1 to 8 and starts again, and the repeat number goes up each time.

For a whole project

Stitchbay keeps as many counters as a project needs, links them, reminds you on the rows where shaping happens ("decrease every 6th row"), and steps through our patterns row by row with the words for each row.

Questions

Does it work with a foot pedal?

Yes: page-turner pedals type keys, and the counter counts on space, Enter, the right arrow or Page Down, and goes back on the left arrow or Page Up.
