GLP-1 Tracker With Apple Health: What Actually Syncs?
Comparing GLP-1 trackers with Apple Health? Check which data moves, in which direction, and whether shot logs sync. Here is GLP-1 Companion’s exact scope.

Short answer: Apple Health support does not mean every part of a GLP-1 tracker is shared with Health. In GLP-1 Companion, the current listing says the app can read weight from Apple Health and save weigh-ins back to it. With Pro, it can also write daily protein, water and fiber totals. The listing does not say that shot logs, symptoms or meals sync to Apple Health, so treat those as separate records.
That distinction matters when you are comparing a GLP-1 tracker with Apple Health. “Syncs with Health” can mean different data types and directions from one app to another. Check the exact permissions before assuming your injection history will appear in Apple's Health app.
What to check before connecting a tracker
Which data types move?
Look for a list, not a general promise. An app might read weight, write weight, or do both. Nutrition values may have separate permissions. Shot dates and symptom notes are another category entirely. A product page should say which records are included rather than leaving you to infer the scope from an Apple Health badge.
Which direction does the sync go?
“Apple Health integration” can mean the app reads data from Health, writes data to Health, or both. In GLP-1 Companion, the documented integration can bring weight into the app and save weigh-ins to Health. The current listing also says Pro can send daily protein, water and fiber totals to Health. You choose the available Health permissions in Apple's prompt.
Is Health required?
The integration is optional. You can use the tracker without connecting Apple Health. If you do connect it, review the individual permissions and grant only the categories you want to use.
What GLP-1 Companion keeps separate
The product documentation describes Health sharing for weight and, with Pro, protein, water and fiber. It does not list medication doses, injection sites, side effects, meals or food-noise notes as Apple Health sync fields. Do not assume those entries will appear in Health just because the app supports a connection.
The privacy policy says the app's records are stored locally and that GLP-1 Companion does not operate an account system or backend for those records. Optional Apple Health access is governed by the permissions you choose. Apple's own Health and device-backup settings remain separate from the app's integration.
If you need a particular record in another place, check the live feature description and the export options before relying on it. Pro currently includes CSV export; that is not the same thing as syncing every record to Apple Health.
A small checklist for comparing apps
Before connecting any health tracker, ask:
- Can it read weight, write weight, or both?
- Are protein, water or other nutrition entries included, and are they paid features?
- Does it sync medication and symptom records, or only measurements?
- Can you use the app without granting Health access?
- Is there an export option if you need a copy of your own record?
- Does the app explain where records are stored and what sharing means?
These questions are more useful than a broad “Health compatible” label. They help you choose a setup that matches the records you actually want to keep together.
About GLP-1 Companion
GLP-1 Companion is a private iPhone tracker for shot history, injection-site notes, symptoms, meals and personal progress. Its Apple Health connection has a narrower, documented scope: weight can be read and weigh-ins saved; Pro can write protein, water and fiber totals. See the GLP-1 Companion product page for current details, or read the privacy policy.
The app is for personal record-keeping. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment or dose instructions. Follow your prescriber's guidance for medical decisions.
