Free amigurumi ball crochet pattern
A small stuffed ball in single crochet spirals: a cat toy, a juggling ball, or the shape every amigurumi animal starts with. It’s a beginner pattern of about 2 hours, and it teaches magic ring, working in a spiral, increasing and decreasing. Follow it below, or open it in Stitchbay to count it row by row.
You’ll need
- 25 m (27 yd) of light weight yarn (DK), cotton or acrylic
- a 3.5 mm (US E-4) hook
- Stitch marker, Toy stuffing, Tapestry needle
- Gauge: Tight single crochet, so the stuffing doesn't show through
Size: About 7 cm (2¾ in) across.
Before you start
Work in a spiral: don't join the rounds. Put a marker in the first stitch of each round and move it up as you go.
For children under three, use safety stuffing and no small parts.
