How to convert PNG to JPG
PNG files from screenshots, design tools and some cameras are often several megabytes, and many upload forms ask for JPG. Converting to JPG keeps the picture and usually makes it several times smaller, especially for photos.

Good to know
- Transparent areas become the background colour you choose (white unless you change it), because JPG has no transparency.
- Quality 85 to 90 looks the same as the PNG for photos. Screenshots full of small text can blur slightly around the letters; keep those as PNG if they must stay crisp.
- If a result is bigger than the PNG (it happens with simple flat graphics), keep the PNG: the list shows the size before and after for every file.
- Nothing is uploaded. Your images are read, converted and saved in this browser tab, and camera details and GPS location are not copied into the new file.
Questions
Will converting PNG to JPG lose quality?
A little, because JPG is lossy. At quality 90 the difference is very hard to see in photos. Sharp text and flat colours show it first.
What happens to a transparent background?
JPG cannot store transparency, so see-through areas are filled with the background colour you pick: white, black or any colour.
Can I convert many PNG files at once?
Yes. Add as many as you like, then Save all downloads them as one ZIP file.
