How to convert PNG to WebP
WebP keeps transparency like PNG but is usually far smaller, so it is the go-to format for logos, product cut-outs and screenshots on a website.
- Add your PNG images: drop them on the box above, or press Choose PNG images. Add as many as you like.
- WebP is already selected. Set the quality.
- Each file converts straight away on your device. The list shows the size before and after.
- Press Download for one file, or Save all for a ZIP of them all (on a phone, Save all shares them so you can save to Photos).

Good to know
- Transparency is kept.
- Use quality 90 or more for graphics with sharp edges and text; 75 to 85 for photos saved as PNG.
- Safari can read WebP but cannot save it. If WebP is greyed out, use Chrome, Edge or Firefox.
- Nothing is uploaded. Your images are read, converted and saved in this browser tab, and camera details and GPS location are not copied into the new file.
